What Costco is actually selling
The current Costco US product is named “Sony PlayStation - Four $25 eGift Cards Digital Download.” It contains four separate $25 codes, for a total PlayStation Store value of $100. Delivery is digital rather than a mailed card or disc. Costco says the balance can be spent on Store games, add-ons, virtual currency and PlayStation Plus.
That description matters because the product does not promise a particular PS Plus tier or duration. Redeeming it adds wallet funds. It does not automatically start Essential, upgrade you to Premium or reserve a 12-month price. You still choose a subscription in PlayStation Store and complete that second transaction.
Costco’s currently rendered US listing also says the item is non-refundable and limits purchases to a maximum of two units per membership every 14 days. Retailer terms and limits can change, so read the version shown at checkout. Search engines may surface older Costco pages for 12-month PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now products; an accessible old listing is not evidence that Costco stocks that direct membership code today.

These are examples, not a claim about the live July 28 price. Costco users reported a temporary US price around $84.99 in June 2026, but that promotion had a limited window and Canadian users reported different pricing. Always compare the signed-in total on the day you buy.
Also consider the cost of access. If you already have a Costco membership for normal shopping, the gift-card reduction can be a straightforward saving. Joining the warehouse club solely to save $10 or $15 once would not make financial sense unless other membership benefits justify the annual fee.

A $100 pack therefore covers the listed annual Essential price before tax, but not annual Extra or Premium. It can still reduce the cost of either higher tier. Costco and Sony both warn that additional payment may be needed. This does not mean the remaining $20.01 after an Essential purchase is wasted. Wallet credit can be used for other eligible Store purchases. Older one-, three- and 12-month PlayStation Plus vouchers can still appear in FAQs and marketplace search results. Sony explains that legacy vouchers may convert to time based on monetary value and the customer’s current tier. That does not change what Costco’s current four-card product is: flexible wallet credit.

A discounted wallet card and a discounted PS Plus subscription may occasionally be stackable in practice, but eligibility and timing vary; never assume a targeted Store offer will remain available after buying non-refundable codes.
