Yes, you can use a Costco PlayStation gift card to pay toward PlayStation Plus—but Costco’s current US listing is not a direct 12-month membership code. As checked on July 28, 2026, Costco lists four digital $25 PlayStation Store gift cards with a combined face value of $100. You redeem the codes to a US PlayStation wallet, then separately select Essential, Extra or Premium in PlayStation Store. The live member price of the gift-card pack can change and was not publicly displayed during our check, so verify it while signed in rather than trusting an old deal post. The method can save money when Costco sells $100 of wallet credit below face value, provided the code region matches your account and you account for any subscription shortfall and tax.

What Costco is actually selling

The current Costco US product is named “Sony PlayStation - Four $25 eGift Cards Digital Download.” It contains four separate $25 codes, for a total PlayStation Store value of $100. Delivery is digital rather than a mailed card or disc. Costco says the balance can be spent on Store games, add-ons, virtual currency and PlayStation Plus.

That description matters because the product does not promise a particular PS Plus tier or duration. Redeeming it adds wallet funds. It does not automatically start Essential, upgrade you to Premium or reserve a 12-month price. You still choose a subscription in PlayStation Store and complete that second transaction.

Costco’s currently rendered US listing also says the item is non-refundable and limits purchases to a maximum of two units per membership every 14 days. Retailer terms and limits can change, so read the version shown at checkout. Search engines may surface older Costco pages for 12-month PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now products; an accessible old listing is not evidence that Costco stocks that direct membership code today.

Costco PlayStation gift card price and savings

The bundle’s face value is clearly $100, but face value is not necessarily the member purchase price. Costco may show pricing only after sign-in, run short promotions or change availability. During our July 28, 2026 check, the public product content did not expose a stable live checkout price, so this guide will not label a historical sale as today’s deal.

You can calculate the discount in seconds:

Savings = $100 face value − Costco price paid

Example Costco price Wallet value Dollar savings Effective discount
$89.99 $100 $10.01 About 10%
$84.99 $100 $15.01 About 15%
$99.99 $100 $0.01 Effectively none

These are examples, not a claim about the live July 28 price. Costco users reported a temporary US price around $84.99 in June 2026, but that promotion had a limited window and Canadian users reported different pricing. Always compare the signed-in total on the day you buy.

Also consider the cost of access. If you already have a Costco membership for normal shopping, the gift-card reduction can be a straightforward saving. Joining the warehouse club solely to save $10 or $15 once would not make financial sense unless other membership benefits justify the annual fee.

Which PlayStation Plus plans can a $100 card cover?

Current US PlayStation Store prices determine how far the wallet balance goes. The following comparison uses 12-month regular prices checked on July 28, 2026 and excludes applicable tax.

12-month plan Current US price Result with $100 wallet credit
Essential $79.99 $20.01 remains before tax
Extra $134.99 $34.99 short before tax
Premium $159.99 $59.99 short before tax

A $100 pack therefore covers the listed annual Essential price before tax, but not annual Extra or Premium. It can still reduce the cost of either higher tier. Costco and Sony both warn that additional payment may be needed. If wallet funds are insufficient when an automatic renewal is due, PlayStation’s terms permit the default payment method on the account to be charged for the balance.

This does not mean the remaining $20.01 after an Essential purchase is wasted. Wallet credit can be used for other eligible Store purchases. However, if you bought the card only for PS Plus, count the unused balance honestly: it is future spending power, not cash back. Before choosing a tier, browse the current PlayStation Plus games and decide whether Extra or Premium adds games and features you would actually use.

How to buy, receive and redeem the Costco codes

  1. Sign in to Costco and open the current product page. Confirm the member price, $100 total face value, current purchase limit and the exact country listing.
  2. Enter the correct recipient email. Costco requires an email address in the shipping field because no physical item is sent.
  3. Wait for delivery. Costco says codes normally arrive by email within two hours, although additional processing can occur. The usual US sender is [email protected].
  4. Confirm your PlayStation account region. The US Costco codes are intended for a US PlayStation account. Check this before revealing or redeeming a code.
  5. Redeem each 12-digit code. On the web, open PlayStation Store, select your profile and choose Redeem Code. On PS5, open Store, press triangle, choose More, then Redeem Code. The PlayStation App also has a Redeem Code option.
  6. Select the PS Plus plan separately. After all wanted codes have added wallet balance, choose your tier and billing period, inspect the renewal terms and finish checkout.

PlayStation Store gift cards use 12-digit voucher codes; redeeming them adds wallet balance rather than directly starting PS Plus.

The pack contains four $25 gift cards rather than one $100 code, so repeat the redemption step for each card you want to add. Each code is valid for one use, and the full $25 value is applied at redemption. Keep the order confirmation until every code appears in your wallet and the intended purchase is complete.

Region, account and membership restrictions

The US Costco codes require an adult PlayStation account registered in the United States. PlayStation’s general voucher guidance says a voucher’s region must match the account region. A US code will not become Canadian credit simply because the owner lives near the border, and changing console language or location does not change the account’s Store country.

Costco Canada maintains a separate product for four $25 CAD cards. Its delivery provider, timing, account eligibility and purchase limits differ from the US listing. Buy from the marketplace matching the PlayStation account that will redeem the funds; do not use currency conversion to assume codes are interchangeable.

On the US listing, the cards are non-refundable, cannot be redeemed for cash, cannot be resold or exchanged under the stated terms and may not be replaced after loss, theft or unauthorized use. Costco also applies a product-specific limit per membership. Those restrictions make a region and email check more important than rushing to capture a small promotion.

  • Verify the PlayStation account country.
  • Confirm the recipient email twice.
  • Read the live Costco member price and limit.
  • Check the selected PS Plus tier’s final total, including tax.
  • Do not send or post the full 12-digit codes.

Gift card balance versus a direct PS Plus code

A PlayStation Store gift card and a direct membership voucher are not two names for the same product. Confusing them can lead to incorrect expectations about duration, renewal and value.

Feature Costco Store gift card Direct PS Plus membership code
What redemption adds Dollar wallet balance A plan entitlement or converted membership time under its terms
Tier selected You choose during a later purchase May be specified or converted based on the active tier
Other uses Games, add-ons and eligible Store items Normally membership only
Shortfall Additional payment can be required Conversion rules govern the membership time

Older one-, three- and 12-month PlayStation Plus vouchers can still appear in FAQs and marketplace search results. Sony explains that legacy vouchers may convert to time based on monetary value and the customer’s current tier. That does not change what Costco’s current four-card product is: flexible wallet credit.

After using that credit for Essential, the subscription supplies Monthly Games during their claim windows. Our current Monthly Games page shows the changing lineup and dates; the gift card itself does not contain or permanently purchase those games.

When Costco is a good PS Plus deal

Costco is a strong option when you already have access to the member price, the discount is meaningful, the code matches your account region and you plan to spend the full wallet value. It can be especially practical for annual Essential because $100 currently covers the base US price and leaves usable Store balance before tax.

It is a weaker option when the member price is close to $100, you must buy a Costco membership only for this transaction, or a direct PlayStation promotion discounts the needed tier more deeply. A discounted wallet card and a discounted PS Plus subscription may occasionally be stackable in practice, but eligibility and timing vary; never assume a targeted Store offer will remain available after buying non-refundable codes.

Use this checkout test:

  1. Subtract Costco’s price from $100.
  2. Subtract the intended PS Plus total, including estimated tax, from your wallet value.
  3. Add any required top-up from another payment method.
  4. Count leftover wallet funds only if you genuinely expect to use them.
  5. Compare the result with the live PlayStation Store offer on your account.

Deals are account- and time-sensitive. Sony’s terms say promotions may vary by country, subscriber and subscriber status. A reliable guide can explain the calculation, but only your signed-in Costco and PlayStation checkout pages can show the final live combination.

What to do if the email or code does not work

If the email is late, first check spam and search for the official delivery sender. Costco says most eGift cards arrive within two hours, not that every order is guaranteed within that period. Use the Digital Order Portal with the order number and purchase email if the expected message is missing. New accounts, larger orders or payment reviews may take longer.

If an email arrived but PlayStation rejects the code, verify that it contains 12 digits and matches the account region. Check PlayStation transaction history in case it was already redeemed to the signed-in account. Sign out and back in if the wallet view has not refreshed.

Contact the party responsible for the failed stage: Costco for an undelivered or canceled retailer order, and PlayStation Support for a delivered code that the correct-region account cannot redeem. Save the receipt, order number and error message, but never publish or send the complete voucher code to strangers claiming they can test it. Because the product is non-refundable, clear documentation is important when requesting legitimate support.

Frequently asked questions

Does Costco currently sell a direct 12-month PS Plus code?

The current US product verified for this guide is four $25 PlayStation Store eGift cards, not a direct 12-month membership entitlement. Old direct-code or PlayStation Now pages should not be treated as current stock.

Can Costco PlayStation gift cards pay for Premium?

Yes, the wallet funds can contribute to Premium, but $100 does not fully cover the current $159.99 US annual Premium price before tax. You will need additional funds.

Is a credit or debit card still needed?

It may be. A selected plan can cost more than the wallet balance, tax may create a shortfall, and automatic renewal can charge the default payment method when wallet funds are insufficient. Review the checkout and renewal screen carefully.

How quickly do Costco PlayStation codes arrive?

Costco says US eGift cards normally arrive by email within two hours, though extra processing time may be required. Use the Digital Order Portal if the normal window passes.

Can I redeem a US Costco code on a Canadian account?

No. PlayStation voucher codes must match the account region. Costco Canada sells a separate CAD product for qualifying Canadian accounts.
